18th Century Wood Carved Portrait Of English / German / Belgium Noble William Burgraff over 3 feet in diameter

The center portrait medallion wood is a hardwood. The outer dark wood is a soft wood and prone to obvious scratches.

Recent cleaning, waxing and stain touch-ups to conceal scratches.

Provenance: From the Dr. Fischinger estate see chateau in Normandy France. (see pic)

Possible history - In Medieval ages the term Burgrave of Burgraff refers to the "holder of the castle".

This William could be a noble figure of the 18th or 17th century. (possibly William the Silent or one of his descendants) but the portraits identity in undetermined at this time. Could use additional scholarship and research.

There is a old auction sticker on back I would guess that Dr. Fischinger bought this object for the chateau 40-50 years ago (speculation).
